Musical and Choreographic Integration in Copland’s and Graham’s Appalachian Spring

A brief "biography" of the unique choreographic style of Martha Graham as it was used in Aaron Copland's "Appalachian Spring" is presented. The methodology seeks to integrate rhythmic analysis of both a written musical score and an unnotated kinesthetic choreographic text.
