The solubility and stabilization of ikaite (CaCO(3) 6H(2)O) from 0 degrees to 25 degrees C: Environmental and Paleoclimatic implications for thinolite tufa
Results of a study concluded that the presence of ikaite or its pseudomorphs is an indicator of near-freezing conditions in the environments with high concentrations of orthophosphate. The environmental and paleoclimatic implications for thinolite tufa are discussed.
