Summary:A nodular ampulla of Vater with a 1 cm tumor inside the bile duct was found on endoscopic-US, and a biopsy specimen showed tubular adenoma with low grade dysplasia. Comments: Repetitive snare resection and papillotomy, with stenting of the pancreatic duct to minimize post-procedure pancreatitis, can result in abnormal scarring and fibrosis that characterize GS and likely play a role in endoscopic failure (Wright, Arch Surg 1999; Half, Orphanet J Rare Dis 2009).
