Summary: | Regens and Gaddie set out to frame campaign finance in rent-seeking terms in the book. The US Senate is the focus of their endeavors, and the authors draw on the Public Choice tradition. The book contains a useful historical perspective on campaign finance legislation, and an interesting discussion of the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed reforms. The empirical work could use improvement, however, diminishing the effectiveness of some of the authors' arguments. |
