Summary:Twelve short months ago at their Annual Conference in St. Louis, the author unveiled their theme for the year, "Adapt Today to Shape Tomorrow." It is a very simple theme, yet very powerful. Their theme comes from their Society's Strategic Plan passed by the Board of Directors in 2014 and is supported by four main pillars: connect, adapt, educate, and extend. Their theme embraces the goal to adapt. You may recall that last year's president, David Underwood, also looked to the Strategic Plan for the foundation of his powerful theme, "Making Connections." They made the room younger by inviting students from around the world to join them in expanding the arts and sciences of the HVAC&R industry. To accomplish this goal, they created a new internship program for their student branch members to connect them to employers so that they could experience firsthand the importance of their work and why they are so passionate about what they do.
