Beckett Listens: Sound Production for the 1977 Geistertrio
Samuel Beckett directed Ghost Trio , in Elmar Tophoven’s German translation, in May 1977 at the television studios of the Süddeutscher Rundfunk ( SDR ) in Stuttgart. In what follows, I discuss aspects of the sound design, as they were worked out with Beckett by the production team.
