Description
Summary:Aim: The aim of this study were investigated the efficacy of prophylactic plastic pancreatic placement and the influence of main pancreatic duct caliber, in adverse events, including post procedure acute pancreatitis in patients undergoing endoscopic papillectomy. The adjusted value related to concomitant both risk factors, PPP insertion and MPD caliber, in AP patients were [(OR = 5,922, (CI) 95% (1.466 - 23.92), p = 0.013], observing that each millimeter added in MPD decrease the AP rate in 3.7E-05 (0.000037) Conclusion: Our study suggest that post procedure AP is the most common adverse event related to papillectomy been directly affect by prophylactic pancreatic duct stent placement and small MPD size.
