Summary: | Subpontic osseous hyperplasia is a non‐neoplastic growth of bone under the pontics of fixed partial dentures, whose pathogenesis is unknown. It is considered a common, not well‐known and under‐diagnosed lesion. Its clinical and radiographic features are diagnostic, and its recognition will help avoid diagnostic or therapeutic procedures unnecessary to the patients. We present two cases of subpontic osseous hyperplasia and discuss its differential diagnosis and current concepts on pathogenesis and management. |
