Description
Summary:This paper uses the infectious disease model as an approach to the prevention of narcotic or poly drug abuse. More specifically, it follows up the previous paper in which the characteristics of the potential addict were described at an age where preventive intervention was possible. The paper advises on the safe use of information so gained about young individuals and warns of the dangers of labelling. It lists and discusses the productive and counter-productive educational techniques on the basis of research findings and international reports on the outcomes of effective and counter-productive programs.
