Summary: | Milt Capps, one of 15 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Professional Interest Section heads participating in the Public Relations Journal's annual forecast, says in terms of corporate public affairs priorities, there will 18 months to 2 years of uncertainty. Predictions on the impact the Clinton presidency might have on public relations vary. If the Clinton Administration follows up on its campaign promises, an era of environmental sensitivity is expected. The Section heads also differ on their 1993 job outlook for their specialties. About 1/2 say the recession is not over. Section heads projected several trends for the profession. The emphasis on accountability will continue, which will require practitioners to better understand the ethics of providing counsel. Practitioners also must increase their focus on strategy and pay closer attention to the global marketplace. |
