Summary:The first priority of the enlarged Europe is to raise new member states’ living standards towards those of the other Union countries. In this context information and communication technologies are said to be a powerful driver of economic growth, employment and social cohesion. Policies for people with disabilities also follow this approach. Therefore in this paper we focus on disabled people and their use of ICT in the area of the acceding and candidate countries.
