Front Cover: Fine and Clean Photothermally Controlled NIR Drug Delivery from Biocompatible Nickel‐bis(dithiolene)‐Containing Liposomes (ChemMedChem 21/2017)

The Front Cover shows the photocontrolled release of anticancer drugs from liposomes doped with photothermally‐active nickel‐bis(dithiolene) complexes (represented as green balls inserted in the lipid bilayers). Under laser irradiation in the near infrared region, the nickel‐bis(dithiolene) complexe...

Description
Summary:The Front Cover shows the photocontrolled release of anticancer drugs from liposomes doped with photothermally‐active nickel‐bis(dithiolene) complexes (represented as green balls inserted in the lipid bilayers). Under laser irradiation in the near infrared region, the nickel‐bis(dithiolene) complexes convert light into heat, which in turn allows for the modulation of the permeability of the organic bilayer of the liposomes enabling high levels of temporal control of drug release.
