Description
Summary:We analyze the most relevant aspects of the design of a Stated Preference (SP) experiment for the two main interurban corridors in Gran Canaria. SP data is based on the stated behaviour of individuals under hypothetical scenarios and is useful for analysing the problem of estimating demand for new alternatives, to measure the effect of latent variables or to examine the potential interactions among explanatory variables. The paper describes the steps followed in the construction of the SP experiment. A detailed analysis of the sample allowed us to detect captive, lexicographic and inconsistent individuals; this in turn allowed us to examine how the removal of these observations affected the modelling results.
