Summary: | In the intensity-modulated radiation therapy, the moving target object localization uncertainty will highly affect the accuracy by the presence of intra-fraction organ motion. With the increasing radiotherapy-related technologies applied in the clinics, it is important to acknowledge the real-time target 3D location during the treatment process by the image guidance strategy. A marker 3D automatic localization and tracking system was implemented by combining the use of onboard kilovoltage and megavoltage imaging devices. The experiments show that the marker localization and tracking accuracy is high, which shows that the system is potentially useful for the image-guided radiation therapy. |
