Summary:Mijares Basin, at the northern end of Jucar Hydrological System, is an exceptional area to study the problems of planning and management of water resources in the Mediterranean area. The historical increase in irrigation has joined the increasing population and industrial growth, especially in the area of La Plana. This paper develops a methodology for calculating the components of water balance and conclude whether the resources meet current needs and will happen if a future change events.
