Summary: | This is the third in a series of three articles on the development and delivery of instruction online via the Internet and the World Wide Web. The focus of this article is on the issues and policy concerns that are emerging as K-12 schools and postsecondary institutions place instruction online. Advancements in technology have made possible the delivery of instruction via the Internet. This has resulted in a number of issues surfacing as barriers and created the need for policies. These concerns have been made even more complicated by the lack of standards to guide those engaged in instructional development. This article discusses issues that K-12 school and institutions of higher education are encountering as they respond to the demand for online instruction. |
