Description
Summary:This short article is a written version of remarks I delivered as a keynote speech at the Oct 21-22, 2016 Washington and Lee University Lara D. Gass Law Review Symposium. The 2016 Symposium, I am gratified to say, paid tribute to my scholarship and that of my longtime colleague, David Millon. This piece will briefly touch on two subjects as a way to reflect on my thirty-one years of corporate law scholarship -- so far! -- during thirty years of which Millon was my esteemed colleague and frequent collaborator, as well as a true friend. First, I will describe what I found when I entered the world of teaching and corporate law scholarship in the mid-1980s. Second, I will highlight two areas and themes in corporate law that have occupied Millon's and my collaborative work and one that I have explored in my own individual scholarship.
