Summary: | Turrou et al detail how choral counting engages students in higher-level thinking and mathematical reasoning. Two major parts of the activity, together, create a powerful, engaging, (and fun!) mathematical experience for students. Although the "count together out loud" part is a common practice that students have likely already seen, especially in primary classrooms, the "recording" and "facilitating a conversation" parts are newer innovations of this activity and this is where they can really extend student ideas into conceptually rich mathematics conversations. |
