Summary: | Thermal conductivity (X) of seven complex organic liquids, polyethers namely diethylene glycol dibutyl ether - n-dodecane, diethylene glycol dimethyl ether-n-dodecane, ethylene glycol dimethyl ether-n-dodecane, triethylene glycol dimethyl ether-n-dodecane and tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether-n-dodecane ( DEG-DBE, DEG-DME, MEG-DME, TEG-DME, TRG-DME respectively), octane and dodecane, have been calculated from Marcus (1995) correlation between transport properties and thermodynamic properties. In the year 1999, Marcus [6] correlated transport properties (viscosity, thermal conductivity and diffusion coefficient) of liquids with thermodynamic properties. [...]viscosity (n) of liquids has been correlated with molar volume (V) and heat of vaporization (AHv), and thermal conductivity (X) with heat capacity at constant pressure (Cp) and molar volume. Thermal conductivity and heat capacity at constant pressure for five binary polyethers ( DEG-DBE, DEG-DME, MEGDME, TEG-DME, TRG-DME) and two alkanes (octane and dodecane) have been measured quite accurately and precisely by Burgdorf et al [7] at different temperatures, 298.15 and 313.15K. |
