Summary: | Being a participant in a system in which delay, expense and uncertainty make the victor frequently indistinguishable from the vanquished is no longer providing the satisfaction that it once did to lawyers and certainly not to the disputants. ADR may be the answer for all of the parties involved. Beyond ADR's positive impact on conducting business and resolving disputes, the ADR system is helping the legal community address the persistent negative image that the public, and lawyers themselves, have of the legal profession. Where the ADR approach is implemented and practiced, an environment is created in which most cases can be resolved more cheaply, swiftly, and with less destruction to personal and business relationships. |
