Summary:Methods: Historical cohort study based on the analysis of medical records of patients with head trauma (HT), strokes, infections, and other acute intracranial events in patients of 3 hospitals in Curitiba, Brazil, in 2015. Results: A total of 455 patients were evaluated being 73.8% male and 26.2% female, 30% stayed for 1 week, 60% needed some surgery, and 51.6% had pneumonia during hospitalization Among the results, we highlight: patients with intraparenchymal hemorrhage and ischemic stroke had higher admission Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA), but worse SOFA on discharge was found in HT victims.
