Summary:In this research, it is aimed to examine the validity-reliability of the Communication Competence Scale developed by Wiemann (1977) and to evaluate the communication skills of individuals in general terms. A five-step method was used to translate the communication skill scale from original to Turkish. The construct validity was used for the validity of the scale, reliability of the scale was examined by test re-test method. As a result of the factor analysis, a scale of 30 items and eight factors was developed. The internal consistency coefficient of the scale was 0.87, the reliability of the test retest analysis is 0.93. The Turkish version of the communication skills scale is a valid and reliable tool for assessing the communication skills of healthcare workers and individuals in general.
