HIV nucleoside analogues: new adverse effects on mitochondria?
A recent report by Blanche and colleagues suggests that prenatal exposure to nucleoside-analogue reverse-transcriptase inhibitors may lead to toxic effects in the mitochondria of infants, but Morris and Carr argue that further studies are needed to confirm or refute this.
