Summary: | A hybrid method of determination of the specific transition resistance is introduced. It makes use of measured results as well as of a numerical approach. Measurement principles and results are presented and discussed. An example of results obtained from numerical welding process simulations by using of the data provided gives insight into capabilities and limitations of the model. The results show that the dynamic total electrical resistance curve of the weld observed in experiments on 22MnB5+AS150 steel can be represented by a finite element model with reasonable accuracy. Furthermore, the composition of the dynamic total resistance at the weld out of its fractions, the true partial resistances, is analysed and discussed. |
