Description
Summary:The Honey Lake fault zone, a major right-lateral fault in the Basin and Range province of eastern California, is one of a broad system of faults that accommodate some of the relative motion between the Pacific and North American plates. These right-lateral faults may have significantly higher slip rates, and thus greater earthquake hazards, than the normal faults for which the Basin and Range is more commonly known.
