Molecular cloning of a myosin Ibeta isozyme that may mediate adaptation by hair cells of the bullfrog's internal ear

Several experiments on hair cells from the bullfrog's sacculus, an organ of the internal ear, support the hypothesis that a myosin I isozyme mediates adaptation. The hypothesized role of myosin I in adaptation by hair cells is tested.
