Description
Summary:Methods In the FRANCE TAVI registry that includes all patients undergoing TAVR in France, we compared the 30-days outcomes of TAVR performed through peripheral vascular access, transthoracic access, and transfemoral access, with a propensity adjustment based on 23 preprocedural variables, exclusive of vascular access anatomy. Through a propensity score analysis we compared 6897/10598 transfemoral access patients, 581/820 peripheral vascular access patients, and 767/1243 transthoracic access patients. 30-days mortality was significantly higher in the transthoracic group (OR = 2.84 [2.14 - 3.78], P< 0.001) but not in the peripheral vascular group (OR = 1.11 [0.71-1.76], P=0.649).
