Description
Summary:This article analyzes the sociospatial dynamics of urban poverty with a view to untangle the spatial factors influencing the variations over space. A stratified sampling technique was adopted to administer a structured questionnaire of 2,521 head of household among the three Senatorial Districts of Delta State, Nigeria. There were uneven distributions of poor households. The F values for the one-way ANOVA for the observed spatial factors were significant at 0.001 level, whereas 78.7% of the total variations were accounted for by sociospatial factors. This study therefore, recommends increased investment and geographic access to sociospatial services to reduce poverty.
