Summary: | In 1995, nineteen industry associations, thirty‐one enterprises and ninety‐six individuals convened to inaugurate the LCA Japan Forum. This organization was established for the primary intention of exchanging information on common underlying problems and new measures regarding LCA among the industries, academia, and government research institutes of Japan. The LCA Japan Forum has proclaimed the urgent need to establish an LCA methodology encompassing a public inventory database and a Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) corresponding with the environmental situation in Japan in order to popularize LCA throughout the nation. |
