Summary: | Informal workforce has negative reflections on educational administration, as well as socio-economic structure and public finance. The informal workforce in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and its reflections on educational administration have been assessed through this study. The number of informal workforce was estimated in this research to be 6,000. As for the economic loss that informal workforce causes on minimum wage basis, it equals to %0,4 of Gross National Product (GNP), to %1,8 of total local income, and to %5,2 of local deficit, which amounts to 6,462,325,000 TL in total. The total loss which is created in social security system by those who are registered cannot make investments, in addition, informal workforce is equal to %32 of the monthly deficit of the Social Insurance Office. It is concluded that the issue of informal workforce which was investigated in previously conducted studies has been significantly diminished in recent years due to precautions that have been taken in this respect. Despite this, it is a fact to be taken into consideration that the registered foreign workforce especially makes an important contribution to the workforce needed in private sector, as it contributes an amount of 96,720,000 TL to the social security system on minimum wage basis, and accounts for %33 of the total workforce, although, it constitutes an obstacle to the management of a sufficient, balanced, timely and effective planning in educational administration. |
