Professors Feng Ping of Zhongshan University and Jiang Chang of Hubei University served as the conference organizers. The International Society for Value Inquiry was privileged to co-sponsor the conference. Altogether about 35 scholars from 9 countries presented papers at the conference. A good number of Chinese philosophy students also attended the conference sessions. In addition to philosophers from China, there were presenters from Japan, Israel, Russia, Spain, Great Britain, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States. The 2 themes set out by Professors Feng and Jiang, the nature of axiology and the impact of globalization on the development of values, were developed in a variety of ways by the other participants in the conference.
