Summary:Many initiatives from the government like voluntary ADR reporting websites etc and pharmaceutical company's side like pre marketing tests, clinical trials are in place to find and escalate ADRs. [...]many studies are going on with respect to healthcare in social media. [...]it requires advanced Natural Language Processing techniques and there are a number of complicated steps like handling informal, unstructured messages and without direct technical terms; the process of excluding retweets, urls and advertisements; emoticons, short forms and spelling mistakes in drug names or adverse reactions; relevant information filtering; removing hearsays or false propagandas. The state-of-the-art natural language processing techniques and machine learning algorithms are used for mine the ADR mentions from social media.
