Summary: | We are reporting the structural and magnetic characterization of a Mn(III) complex where a very strong symmetric H‐interaction drives a supramolecular one dimensional organization.
[Display omitted]
•Very strong symmetric H-bond strings Mn(III) building units in a 1D arrangement.•Magnetic behaviour is governed by local Mn(III) zero field splitting.•DFT-BS calculations support the very weak exchange interaction through H-bond.
We are reporting the structural and magnetic characterization of a Mn(III) mononuclear complex based on a Schiff-base ligand with carboxylate pendant arm. Very strong symmetric H-interaction drives a one dimensional organization of this complex, densely packed through C–H⋯π further interactions. Low temperature magnetic behaviour appears governed by local ion zero field splitting obscuring any possible weak exchange interaction through the symmetric H-bond pathway. |
