Summary: | In a litigious society, it is of particular importance that students understand the law of sexual harassment and sexual harassment investigations. Sexual harassment litigation can create a heavy financial burden on employers. Sexual harassment investigations and litigation also cause a social impact on employers. In order to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the law of sexual harassment and sexual harassment investigations, as well as the organizational consequences of workplace investigations, a multilayered approach can be used. In this approach, a variety of teaching techniques are employed so that students are able to approach this complicated subject area from a variety of viewpoints. This approach utilizes lectures, group discussions, PowerPoint slides, a movie clip, and role playing. Thus, the approach brings visual, audio, and kinesthetic learners into the fold and ensures their proficiency in this complicated legal area. The multilayered approach to teach the law of sexual harassment and sexual harassment investigations makes a conceptually difficult topic accessible for students and provides them with an opportunity to apply their knowledge to a real-life situation.
