Description
Summary:Fluorophosphate glass containing 1.7 mol % of CuCl was synthesized in the x Ba(PO 3 ) 2 · (90– x )NaPO 3 · 10AlF 3 system (mol %). The excess chlorine due to the addition of two different amounts of HCl results in a decrease in glass density indicating the introduction of chlorine in the structure and reduction of the degree of connectivity of the glass network. In glass with a high concentration of chlorine, CuCl nanocrystals with dimensions of about 4–4.6 nm are formed during the heat treatment near the glass transition temperature ( T g ); this is registered by the appearance and increase of exciton bands corresponding to the Z 1,2 and Z 3 transitions.
