Description
Summary:Companies looking to stake a claim on the Internet are advised to carefully draft agreements with Internet service providers and sites hosts to save money and high tech headaches. To avoid surprises, the design agreement should specify the hardware and software configuration on which the site is to operate. Development of the site should proceed according to a set of milestones listed in the design agreements. If it is anticipated that it may be necessary for the designer to provide services that cannot be identified at the time the agreement is drafted, a clause in the agreement specifying the cost of those services should be included. Site hosts should be capable of providing "virtual hosting," meaning that the company with the site will be able to have a document name of its own. Also, the host's connection to the Internet must be fast enough to support the anticipated visitor traffic to the site.
