Summary:Reactions of acetamide and benzamide with N -allyltrifluoromethanesulfonamide in the presence of t -BuOCl–NaI afforded exclusively 2,5-bis(chloromethyl)-1,4-bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)piperazine. Analogous reaction with N , N -diallyltrifluoromethanesulfonamide gave mixed halogenation product at only one C=C double bond of the substrate.
