Description
Summary:A study demonstrated an original approach to the study of kimberlite bodies with application of the effective seismic technique based on the use of the background low frequency microseismic field of the Earth. In contrast to standard seismic techniques, the proposed microseismic sounding method [1, 2] is most effective in the case of near vertical, not near horizontal structures. This is explained by the fact that sounding surface Raleigh waves are spread in the horizontal direction, although the amplitude effect of their interaction with heterogeneities is observable at the surface.
