Description
Summary:[...] an effort to strengthen organisational stakeholders' awareness, before committing to a course of action, with regard to the decision-making process they are about to follow (organisational self-assessment) is an extremely important area of research, and the predominant focus of this special issue. All too often in my experiences as a researcher and following numerous research site visits I have asked myself "why are so many organisations getting IS implementations wrong?" However, adding to my growing frustration, it always appeared to be the same issues that were emerging as the possible causes of such less than successful implementations and resultant project outcomes. [...] the 2004 Swanson and Ramiller paper provided me with some fresh perspectives to bring to my own research to better understand these organisational experiences I encountered.
