Summary: | In this work, we synthesized β-Gd and Gd2O3 nanoparticles through a sonic-chemical method at room temperature assisted with tannic acid as reduction agent. A structural characterization was done using diverse techniques such as HRTEM, EDX, and PXRD to identify the phases presented in the nanoparticles. Our results suggest a plausible self-assembling mechanism. It is concluded that it is possible to synthesize lanthanide nanoparticles without burning the samples, keeping the nanostructure and size properties. These kind of nanoparticles might lead to new applications in biosensors or theranostics. |
