Summary: | The utilization of batteries and of electrical components to deliver useful power to the propulsive device greatly increases the efficiency of the propulsion system. In fact, an improvement in overall propulsion system efficiency of 30 per cent at a typical cruise condition (ISA + 10, FL350 and M0.76) can be achieved by the hybrid-electric propulsion system considered compared to the advanced gas-turbine only aircraft. |
