A New Dammarane-Type Saponin from the Rhizomes of Panax japonicus

A new dammarane-type saponin, named yesanchinoside R 3 ( 1 ), along with three known compounds, has been isolated from the rhizomes of Panax japonicus . Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic evidence.
