Summary: | The objective of this paper is to discuss several topics addressed in construction claims literature in light of their harmony to, or contrast with, a research conducted on construction claims in the Egyptian construction sector. An extensive literature review of 26 references and a sample size of 21 projects constituted the backbone of this research. The Egyptian contractors chosen for this research included middle to large sized Egyptian contractors, whose cumulative industrial work volume exceeded LE 50 million, and cumulative construction work volume exceeded LE 100 million. It is unequivocal that construction claims transcend international boundaries. To date, there exists a gap in the coverage of construction management literature for claims activity in the Middle East, which experiences an abundance of international companies and in which construction claims are a prevalent phenomenon. |
