Summary:The current status of research into the thermal behavior of heterometallic 3 d –4 f carboxylates that are suitable candidates for single-source precursors of mixed oxides was considered. Emphasis was placed on the thermal stability and conditions of conversion of complexes to mixed oxides. The influence of the composition and nature of the precursor on the composition and properties of the resulting mixed oxides was demonstrated.
