This positioning reflects the growing interest internationally in the concept over the past few years among academics, practitioners and the media. This article explores this burgeoning interest and specifically explores 4 questions: 1. What is emotional intelligence? 2. Can it be measured? If so, how? 3. How can one estimate emotional intelligence? 4. Can emotional intelligence be developed? Support is growing for the notion that emotional intelligence is a better indicator of an individual's talents than traditional measures such as IQ.
