Islamic Economics and the Islamic Subeconomy

In the Fall 1995 issue of this journal (pp. 155-173), Timur Kuran makes a number of statements which are likely to create an unduly negative impact on the reader's mind about Islamic economics. In this comment, I wish to discuss three of these statements.
