Summary: | Reaction rates are often defined using classical statistics for introducing the thermal occupation probabilities. Its predictions for the temperature dependence of a rate are found in reasonable agreement with experiments. In view of the applications to polaronic systems at lower temperatures under strongly quantized conditions, we now extend the definition so as to incorporate quantum statistics as well, Fermi-Dirac for polarons and Bose-Einstein for bipolarons. We find both extensions feasible. |
