Summary: | R. F. Baumeister and A. Steinhilber's (1984) widely accepted analysis that professional sports teams play unusually badly (choke) under the pressure created by their home fans and perform poorly in decisive home games of championship series was re-examined, and no evidence of a home-field championship was found. Baumeister replies to the re-analysis by Schlenker, Phillips, Boniecki and Schlenker (1995). Schlenker, Phillips, Boniecki and Schlenker reply to Baumeister's (1995) reply on their work. |
