Summary:We have studied the evolution of the domain structure of LiNbO 3 :ZnO crystals during high-temperature annealing. The results demonstrate that the thermal decomposition of polar clusters that stabilize domain walls in LiNbO 3 :ZnO crystals initiates a jumplike carrier injection and an increase in electrical conductivity, leading to domain structure breakdown.
