Summary:In the spring of 2005, the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Washington, Seattle, and the board of directors of the National Council for Eurasian and East European Research (NCEEER) approved a new strategic initiative that will have a profoundly positive impact for the field of Eurasian and East European Studies. The new strategic initiative squarely, productively, and effectively addresses the needs and concerns of the Eurasian and East European Studies field, including its scholarly constituents, the policymaking community, and the business community.
